What you'll be doing

As a Document Controller, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Manage the requirements for document control on the project ensuring that procedures are fully implemented to meet compliance requirements for ISO19650 information management file naming regulation standards.
  • Identify contractual requirements in relation to document control.
  • Utilisation of Balfour Beatty internal SharePoint.
  • Ensure accurate control of documentation from pre-construction through to completion and archive.
  • Manage different Review Workflows, consulting closely with the project design manager along with site team, design team, subcontractors, customers, external suppliers.
  • Liaise with project teams, ensuring they have a full understanding of the document control procedure along with the CDE system procedures providing training and instruction as needed for the distribution of project information ensuring that stakeholders receive up to date information.
  • Provide feedback such that design and project managers are fully aware of all documentation issues.
  • Manage business archiving such that documentation is stored efficiently and can always be accessed and referenced.
  • Understand and conduct the role specific requirements of the Information Management Systems and help identify opportunities for improvement.

Who we're looking for

The following skills & experience are required:

  • Excellent Administration skills
  • Understanding of ISO19650 file naming regulation standards used in documentation control.
  • Experience of working with Common data environment platforms (CDE)
  • Experience of document control.
  • Basic understanding of BIM.
  • An ability to understand how the operations of the department relate to others and work collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the business.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation and diligence skills.
