In 2017, a joint venture between Balfour Beatty and VINCI (BBV) was awarded contracts by High Speed 2 (HS2) to design and build Lots N1 and N2 between the Long Itchington Wood Green tunnel near Leamington Spa in the south and the West Coast Main Line tie-in near Lichfield to the north.
Following the recent release of a further tranche of funding to BBV, we are now starting the process to bring in further talent and expertise from across Major Projects and the wider Balfour Beatty group to deliver this iconic project. The immediate work will involve the procurement of some critical long-lead items, detailed design work, the start of compound construction and preparations for the mobilisation of the full Stage 2 construction works.
