About the role

Balfour Beatty have a fabulous opportunity for an Electrical Fitter/Electrician to join our Rail Traction team to work in Hillington, Glasgow

With an extensive legacy of rail expertise, our teams safely deliver complex projects from consultancy and design to all aspects of construction and maintenance. Using advanced plant and machinery and unique innovations, we provide end-to-end solutions for our customers.

As an Electrical Fitter/Electrician you will have sectional/partial accountability for successful project delivery including initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out.

What you'll be doing

Other key responsibilities will be:

  • Support/Assist the Project manager/Project Director to deliver the project
  • A change agent that provides management, leadership and inspires a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a common goal
  • Determine the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project requirements, objectives and constraints, time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits

Who we're looking for

We are looking for the following:

  • Successfully completed a recognised apprenticeship in electrical installation / switchboard manufacture.
  • Be able to carry out electrical installation work efficiently in accordance
    with relevant statutory regulations and industry codes of practice.
  • Knowledge of the National Working Rules for the Electrical
    Contracting Industry
  • Achieved SVQ Level 3 Certificate in electrical installation jointly awarded by Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and the SJIB, JIB or an approved equivalent
  • Experience in electrical switchgear assembly and installation
  • Good understanding of safe systems of work
