About the role

Our Balvac business delivers innovative structural repair, strengthening, protection and maintenance solutions enabling our customers assets to return to full capacity and thus extend their respective working life.

Our clients include National Highways and some major local authorities across the UK in the highway infrastructure sector. We have also successfully transferred our services into various other key sectors including the wider transport sector, energy & power, industrial and commercial.

With an increasing portfolio and organic growth plans, we are looking to identify several talented individuals (Contracts Engineers, Site Agents, Project Managers & Specialist Services Engineers) based across the country to join this high-octane energy driven team.

Given the above, Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Methods & Proposals Engineer to join our - Balvac team based in either our Warrington or Leeds office with visits to Balvac Projects across the UK

What you'll be doing

Some key areas will include: -

  • Prepare Technical Proposals to provide sustainable engineering solutions and addressing identified structural problems.
  • Undertake buildability reviews to support Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) schemes and tenders
  • Undertake necessary research to support the development of engineering solutions and buildability reviews
  • Identify, review, and select techniques, procedures, and methods to undertake engineering tasks.
  • Prepare the delivery plan identifying the deliverables required to address the brief within the specified timescales

Who we're looking for

So, what might we be looking for?

  • A reasonable level of experience in structural repair/specialist repair projects delivery, this could be in ANY of the above areas/sectors described.
  • An engineering degree (or equivalent and professional membership or working towards a relevant Engineering Institution.
  • An understanding of standards, specifications, construction techniques and methodologies in the specialist markets.
