Overview

You will be the main point of contact for quality. Support the Quality Assurance Area Lead in ensuring that the Project Quality Assurance requirements are understood and implemented and to ensure that Client and statutory requirements are effectively met. You will provide quality assurance interface and internal audit for improvements.

About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

As a Quality Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities.

  • Interact cross-functionally with project team members and management
  • Maintain logs
  • Review LTQR records where required
  • Produce appropriate reports and management information, monitor the output and address any issues arising to drive improvements.
  • Lead investigations and implement effective Root Cause Analysis to enable the identification of corrective actions (as required).
  • Challenge systems, processes and working practices to ensure best practice and continual improvement
  • Provide Process Verification Support within the Quality Team to exploit/mitigate risks to MEH Alliance Processes
  • Champion Foreign Material Exclusion, preventing ingress or entrapment of non-specified materials, loose items or debris in equipment and /or systems during assembly and testing.

Who we're looking for

Do you have?

  • Qualification in an engineering discipline, ONC / HND (or equivalent experience)
  • Preferred membership of chartered quality institute or similar.
  • Experience in a progressively responsible Quality Engineering positions
  • Experience working within regulated industries
  • Ability to achieve a high-level security clearance.
  • Nuclear and Major Project experience would be a benefit.
