About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

As a/an CMPic Senior Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • To provide engineering support for the cable installation activities.
  • To support the end to end cable management and installation strategy that aligns with the site logistics strategy.
  • To develop the Joint Venture CMPIC team and develop the processes and procedures to monitor and manage the cable requirements to support the installation sequence.
  • To support the preparation of the specialist documentation from CMPic required to support the installation of the cables.
  • To support the preparation of area specific CMPic documentation to ensure the correct integration of the cable installation.
  • To ensure that best for project interface decisions are implemented across the various areas and buildings.
  • To Support the implementation of the cable tracking system and use during installation.
  • Take on line management responsibilities as the team and project grows.

Who we're looking for

  • Experience in project management and delivery of complex HV / LV cable installation and terminating activities.
  • Experience in CMPic or other cable database
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Confident use of IT and MS Office software
  • Engineering qualification (or relevant experience within cable management)
  • IOSH Managing Safely preferred
  • CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport
  • Ability to obtain a high level security clearance
