Overview

You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with quality standards and procedures. All installation, calibration, and testing processes of electrical and instrumentation scope. Recommend methods to improve overall quality and assists in analysing quality concerns.

About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

s an Electrical Quality Control Inspector, you will have the following responsibilities,

  • Perform inspections in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
  • Liaise with clients representative for conducting of day-to-day inspection during the
    construction activities.
  • Ensure installation of equipment is in compliance with ECS Code, drawings, vendor
    and code requirements with respect to; material, alignment, etc.
  • Assist QC manager and Area Leads in executing their responsibilities.
  • Maintaining LTQRs as required during inspections ensuring all signatures on LTQR
    and ITP during inspection.
  • Updating SONIM register as required.
  • Champion Foreign Material Exclusion, preventing ingress or entrapment of non-
    specified materials, loose items, or debris in equipment and /or systems during
    assembly and testing.

Who we're looking for

Do you have?

  • Qualifications in Electrical/Electronics/instrumentation, JIB/ONC / HNC / HND (or
    equivalent experience).
  • Experience of Quality Control during the installation, inspection and testing
    of electrical and instrument systems associated with process plant during
    construction and operation.
  • Knowledge of ATEX directive, preferably attended relevant CompEx competency
  • Major Project or Nuclear experience would be an advantage.
  • Ability to obtain a high-level security clearance.
